Xiu Xiu's Jamie Stewart Goes Naked and Untitled

Jamie Stewart is going solo. Not permanently, mind you, just for fun. He's releasing a 7" picture disc on Beatismurder records. This is his second foray into his series of picture discs David Horvitz provided the conceptual idea and the artwork.

"Imagine a more reduced Knife-Play-era Xiu Xiu and you already get an idea about what the 3 tracks on this EP (33rpm) sound like," said the press release.

You're Oh So Prolific Jens: New Album

Now done with his third album, Jens Lekman will release Night Falls Over Kortedala in October. It's being compared to the sound of Paul Simon's Graceland, with pop context and a little sense of 'tropicalia' included for good measure.

Jens has been working on the material over the last three years, in between many shows and many songs. Jens sees it as an inward looking album, saying "from the sound of my own voice reverberating off my home's old '50s brick walls, from the ghosts of everyone who's lived here before me clapping along with their little ecto-plasm hands. My record basically never leaves the 30 square meters that I live on until the very last song when i take a short bus ride to the countryside in 'Friday Night at the Drive-in Bingo."

Check out a stream of the first single Friday Night at Drive-In Bingo, it's just been released from Secretly Canadian.
