Kindercore Returns As A Digital Label

By: Spacelab Research Staff

Back in action... That's this Summer's motto at the newly reformed Kindercore Records. This time around they're not giving us records, they've become a digital media label. That's right, they've gone all ones and zeroes on us, offering a wide collection of "bands, comic book artists, analysts, premier t-shirt designers, and humorists from Athens, GA and beyond."

They're also kicking things off in style.. with a party! The Caledonia Lounge in Athens Georgia will plaqy host to their launch party with acts like USSR, King of Prussia, Ruby Isle and a Masters of the Hemisphere tribute band.

After legal troubles brought the label to a screeching halt in 2003, Kindercore went dormant until a the case could be resolved. Enter 2007, and Kindercore is back with a new idea and a new mission: center the label around the Kindercore.com web site, and start a community of like-minded music, comics, film projects, forums, writing, clothing.

"We aren’t dead, we were just resting,” says a message on the Kindercore web site. Now they've got a roster of bands that includes current artists like Ruby Isle, USSR, and King of Prussia (they all sound so internationalist) alongside past acts like Of Montreal, Maserati, Kincaid, and Dressy Bessy.
