Okkervil River Gives The Gift Of Free Music + VIDEO

Happy holidays from Okkervil River! The band's pushing free goods right now, with the offering of an album of covers. All of the songs were recorded at various spots while on tour, including 'radio stations, concerts and empty hotel stairwells.' It includes songs from the likes of John Cale, Joni Mitchell, Randy Newman and more.
There's also a video in the offering for the song A Girl in Port.
“We had a day off in the area surrounding the walled city of San Elpidio a Mare, Italy. We took the van down to the beach; Scotty and Brian skipped rocks; Patrick and Travis played this weird little pseudo-poker shell and rock game; and I pulled out my guitar to play this song inspired by the whole seaside scene. It was one of my favorite afternoons in recent memory,” said Will Sheff about the recording of the video. It was directed by Mike Angelo Tores.
Then there's the shows. Okkervill River will be playing dates in February and March in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
