Vetiver have so much going on right now: new album, remixes, tour planning ...
The new album is a bunch of cover songs, titled Things of the Past, due out on both Gnomosong (stateside!) and FatCat Records (Europeeps!) in May.
"I have just approved the master and am finishing up the cover art for the next Vetiver full-length album, which should see the light of day on Gnomonsong sometime in May. It is an album of covers, some songs we've been performing live, and others that we just admire and wanted to try our hand at. I think it came out pretty well," said Andy Cabic.
You know what I want to see? An album of cover songs from the future, songs yet to be written, called "Things of The Future" as the next Vetiver release. That could be truly amazing. For now, we'll have to deal with some solid Vetivering of other material.
Or you could dig the 12" remix being offered by Gnomosong right now, no future required, of two songs previously released by the band.
"Featuring remixes from Neighbors of two songs from their album To Find Me Gone, this release takes the Vetiver sound into new territory, with the longer, dark sounding schaffel of "You May Be Blue" and a skeletal dub version of "Been So Long," reports Gnomosong on their web site.
Or you can catch the band as they Vetiver their way across the U.S. and Canada in support of Gary Louris. Vetiver: not just a noun but also a verb and adjective too.
