The End of the Road Festival:
When Jokes Become Reality

By: Christy Mannering

Mark your calendars for September 12-14 to be at the Larmer Tree Gardens (North Dorset / Wiltshire borders, UK) for the End of the Road music festival. Bands are already confirming their spots in the event ... During the course of the festival the acts on stage will be:

Mercury Rev
Two Gallants
Micah P Hinson
Mountain Goats
Sun Kil Moon/Mark Kozelek
Jeffrey Lewis
Jason Molina (Magnolia Electric Co.)
A Hawk And A Hacksaw
Bob Log III
The Wave Pictures
Friska Viljor
and Woodpigeon

... and that, my friends, is just the tip of the iceberg. The End of the Road website is promising more band announcements in the months to come.

The End of the Road festival was developed by Simon Taffe and Sofia Hagberg, who joked about how awesome it would be to put together their “perfect” festival with all of their favorite bands. Simon Taffe is a 27-year-old who runs a painting and decorating business and had never put together a concert or even a gig in his life. Sofia Hagberg knew how to organize events and handle public relations because she already represented several artists and handled their bookings. The longtime friends turned a joke into a dreamlike-reality and are sharing the fun with anyone who can swing it.

Families are welcome and will have a smashing blast thanks to fun activities like a Wooden Fort playground, Swing Boats, Drumming Workshops, Face Painting, Storytelling and
Balloon modeling to name a few. Tickets are £105 for the entire weekend, including camping and children under age 5 are free.
