Warp Records grows all the more internationalist with the signing of Pivot, a band from Sydney, Australia.

Pivot sounds interesting, catchy, fragmented, disjointed, and prone to tangents. That all adds up to a sound of diverse influences, while maintaining some kind of cohesiveness to the overall vehicle. They're electronic like Auechre but also sound organic like they use traditional instruments. Check them at MySpace to see what I mean.

Given that sound, they were a natural fit to open for Battles on some recent shows in Australia.

Pivot will release a single titled In The Blood in May, with a full length album to follow later in the year.
