Kieran Hebden Is Back In The Saddle On New Releases

Good news for all the Four Tet people ... there's a new release coming out on May 6th titled Ringer. It will be the first offering of new Four Tet songs since 2005's Everything Ecstatic.


"The Ringer mini album is a 32 minute, four-track excursion into the kind of wide-open spaces you might find if you set out to make techno with an afrobeat/krautrock sensibility," reads a release on the album. It looks like new territory for Kieran Hebden, as his recent collaborations with Steve Reid have had an impact on his musical psyche and how he creates music. Welcome to the evolutionary steps of the Four Tet sound.


Kieran has also been keeping busy with studio work from other projects. In a statement on his web site, he said "The remix I did for Thom Yorke is about to get a vinyl release so look out for that. And I've just finished a remix for Born Ruffians for Warp records... not sure when that's due out though."


He went on to say that he'll be releasing a new album with Steve Reid later this year.


Four Tet's Ringer will be released on Domino Records. It will be available on CD, 12" vinyl, and download.
