Perhaps the coolest of all festivals on the planet (and one of the oldest), Roskilde Music Festival has the credibility, history, and coolness that literally no other festival in the world has.
The 2008 incarnation of Roskilde will not disappoint. With big names like Radiohead, Sigur Rós, Neil Young, Gnarls Barkley, José González, Hot Chip, M.I.A., My Bloody Valentine, Battles, The Raveonettes, and Liars alongside less well-known acts like MGMT, Black Mountain, and Efterklang, you've got something big going on.
"With 180 acts it's a big festival and we have all those right headliners - we have Radiohead and we have Neil Young Jay-Z, and a lot of these really interesting high-profile headlining acts. On top of that we do go so much deeper into all aspects - we try to show variety and add a little culture too," said Roskilde booking agent Rikke Øxner when speaking to NME.
It all happens in Roskilde, Denmark. Get on the Eurorail, hop a flight to Europe, or just start walking if you have to, this festival promises to be one of the best of 2008. Check out the 2008 line up:
