Bodies of Water make the kind of music that’s the intersection of so many elements that it’s hard to keep track of them all. Nonetheless, here’s a few free associations based on their bio and other’s reactions:

Cohesive, prog, gospel, Velvet Underground, punk rock, American folk, tropicalia, musical theatre, tribal-psych, 70’s influenced, gorgeous, kraut-tribal, choral hugeness … and the list goes on. You get the idea.

It just so happens that they’re releasing a new album soon called A Certain Feeling on Secretly Canadian. The album will be released on July 17th, and the band has put up an MP3 of the song Under The Pines to get things rolling.
