John Roderick and The Long Winters are set to return to the studio this Summer, after a series of shows in July. They'll record around the city of Seattle, in various places including Two Sticks Studio, which is Death Cab for Cutie drummer Jason McGerr's studio.
They're going into the studio with about 120 one minute long loops of different tracks of instruments, which presents a new approach to recording for the band. John recently spoke with Spin Magazine in an audio interview.
They're hoping to release the album in 2009 on Barsuk Records. It will be the follow up to 2006's Putting the Days to Bed.
