After Muxtape shut itself down last month, the site remained below the radar, not revealing what it was up to, saying only that "Muxtape will be unavailable for a brief period while we sort out a problem with the RIAA."
Fast forward (get it?) to a month later, and the site has posted a bold new manifesto, with a telling of the tale of the last month. Muxtape will go back online, a little different than last time, with a focus on bands instead of the rest of us. We'll all be able to benefit from where the site is going though:
"Muxtape is relaunching as a service exclusively for bands, offering an extremely powerful platform with unheard-of simplicity for artists to thrive on the internet."
Muxtape founder Justin Ouellette releayed a long history and accounting of his dealing with the RIAA and major recording labels at the Muxtape site.
