Magnolia Electric Co. Tour U.S. in Preparation for New Album

By: Spacelab Research Staff

Magnolia Electric Co. are preparing to work with none other than Mr. Steve Albini on their next album. They'll be reporting for duty after a small set of fall tour dates that end in Chicago on November 3rd. The band will be using the tour to tighten up new material, as well as play older music, including Ohia-era material.

Secretly Canadian has put the word out:

"When Mr. Molina goes quiet it usually means he's gearing up for something big, and the first wisps of the next Magnolia Electric Co. project will be landing soon in a town near you. Jason Molina, now living in the UK, has spent much of the recent months touring solo in his new home, and writing, writing, writing. Now starting on October 21 he will be reuniting with his fellow Electricians: Jason Groth, Pete Schreiner, Mikey Kapinus, and Mark Rice for a thirteen date U.S. tour. The band will be fleshing out new songs on the road, as well as Magnolia classics."
