The Glastonbury festival has named the first name behind its 2009 line up. It's Major Major , a four-piece act from Liverpool. They're the winner of the RockStar Bands competition, which gave them a chance to be a part of Glastonbury.
The 2009 festival will take place on June 26 - 28.
They've announced a new booking scheme that lets people buy up to six tickets for next year's festival. Tickets went on sale on October 5th, 2008.
”We have come up with a scheme that will allow people a much longer period to plan and pay for their tickets, while still continuing the battle against ticket touting," said Michael Eavis.
“By paying as little as £50 up front this year, Festival-goers from all over the world will be able to guarantee a ticket for next year’s event. At the same time the very successful registration scheme will ensure that tickets will only go to those named individuals who have reserved them in advance.”
