Mountains Add to Thrill Jockey's Eclectic Empire

Showing no signs of an economic slowdown, Thrill Jockey Records continues to sign bands, this time with the Brooklyn-based Mountains. The label will release a full-length album titled Choral on February 17th on both CD and double vinyl. The vinyl release will include two bonus tracks and will be limited to 1,000 copies.

Mountains consist of Brendon Anderegg and Koen Holtkamp, who met at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago before "seamlessly blend[ing] pastoral electronic sounds with both field recordings and a plethora of acoustic instruments," as put their label Thrill Jockey. Subtle electronics and live sampling are added to the music to keep it interesting

The album Choral was recorded live by the band while using minimal overdubs to keep it souning live and immediate.
