Orbital Will Reform for 2009's The Big Chill

By: Spacelab Research Staff

Five years is a long time. What was going on 5 years ago? The first Bush term (sigh). The world was introduced to Valerie Plame. It was also the last time Orbital played a live show.

That's all set to change, as Orbital has been tapped to headline 2009's The Big Chill in the UK. The 2009 festival will happen August 7 - 9.

Orbital is planning big visuals and anthems, building on their past reputation as a live act. Don't expect it to be the usual Orbital fodder, though.

"It's not an exercise in nostalgia, the time just seems right," says Orbital's Phil Hartnoll. "Everything just seemed to fall into place. I've played at the Big Chill before, I DJed there and had a really good time - it's an amazing festival. The timing is also good: 20 years of being together."

Basement Jaxx and Friendly Fires were also added to the lineup. Check out the Festival Overview for more details.
