Seattle's Telekinesis have signed on with Merge Records, who will release a self-titled album on April 7th.
Self-described as minimalist, Telekinesis has a sort of indie pop-leaning sound with some similarity to the Elephant 6 Collective bands.
The album was produced by Chris Walla at Two Sticks Audio and features Michael Benjamin Lerner playing all of the instruments and doing all of the song writing.
"Influenced both by the carefully constructed timeless pop of the 60s and 70s and by the nonchalance and brevity of classic indie rock, Walla and Lerner approached the recording of Telekinesis! with the goal that each song's tracking and mixing would be done to analog tape in a single day, and that they would never look back," reads the announcement on the Merge web site.
