Sigur Rós to Rerelease Classics on Fat, Fat Vinyl

By: Spacelab Research Staff

Dateline 2009: Worldwide economic collapse is imminent. People have stopped spending. Everywhere you go, you hear people talking about how they've started saving. Distinguishing between need and want. What a perfect time to release delicious, heady, deep vinyl reissues of your past releases! That's exactly what will happen with two Sigur Rós releases in March, with the classic albums Ágætis Bryjun and ( ).

They'll arrive in the form of 180-gram DMM vinyl from London-based FatCat Records on March 9th. Here's the delicious, heady data:
• 180gm Heavyweight vinyl Double Albums
• Direct Metal Mastering (DMM) Remastered at Abbey Road
• Limited Edition Re-Issues in the same 'deluxe' vinyl packaging as the original versions.

But there's more! Not to be outdone by what they might consider wimpy 180-gram vinyl, One Little Indian will release another Sigur Ros album, Von, in "200g heavyweight vinyl, housed in a lavish gatefold sleeve with a special purple plastic wallet." This will also arrive in March at a date yet to be specified, limited to 2000 copies.

You can start saving in April.
