Viva Voce Build a Studio and a New Album

Viva Voce have been building an at-home studio. Taking the hands-on approach of making their own music and recordings, they've put the studio to good use creating the sounds for their next release, Rose City.

The band wrote and recorded the whole album in one month's time, choosing "not to deliberate over every little thing but living purely in the moment musically and lyrically, immersing themselves in sonic experimentation," according to their label, Barsuk Records.

Member Kevin Robinson has been staying busy producing and recording bands like Tu Fawning and Thao with The Get Down Stay Down, while Viva Voce have been touring steadily with country rock band Blue Giant. They've also added band members Corrina Repp and Evan Railton to the band, both part of the Portland music scene.

Look for the band to play US dates in March and April, with more dates coming after the release of the album, which happens on May 26th. The return of angular.
