Vivid Sydney , a three-week event that runs from May 26 through June 14, promises to turn the city into a major hub of creativity, sight and sound. It "will include four major events, artistic villages, demonstrations and performances in and around the Sydney Opera House, The Rocks, Circular Quay and the City Center."

It'll be broken into four major events: a music festival curated by Brian Eno, a light show, an ideas festival, and huge pyro-loving celebration of burning things.

Smart Light Sydney: showcases light art sculptures as a Light Walk around Sydney's harbor precinct

Creative Sydney: an ideas festival centered around a series of creative industry seminars, workshops and events featuring Sydney's artistic talent

Fire Water: the dramatic burning of the Three Bees ship, fire sculptures, light installations, music, floating lantern workshops, where even the food is flame-grilled
