Afrika Bambaata, Bassnectar, Carl Cox, Derrick May, Francois K and Z-Trip have been named as among the initial line up for the 2009 Detroit Electronic Music Festival, a.k.a. Movement.

Movement will take place May 23-25 on Hart Plaza in Detroit. There's also an opening party at The Fillmore featuring The Prodigy on May 22.

There will be more acts announced at a later time, according to festival organizer Jason Huvaere.

“We are in the process of finalizing many more artists for the festival,” said Huvaere, “but we wanted to give electronic music fans an idea of the performers we have already secured for this year’s event.
