Flaming Lips have been announced as the Sunday night headlining act for the Pitchfork Music Festival, which makes them the first headling band to be announced.
They've been added to a list of names announced earlier that included Vivian Girls, The Jesus Lizard, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, and more.
They're not revealing anything about what kind of crazy things the Lips will partake in as part of the show, only saying "Past Flaming Lips shows have featured confetti, fake blood, naked dancers, animal costumes, and Wayne walking on top of the crowd inside a big plastic bubble. Who knows what they've got up their sleeves for our festival!"
The event happens in Chicago on July 17, 18, and 19. Check out the Festival Overview for more details.
