Sonic Youth has named their first set of tour dates for 2009, that begin shortly after the release of their upcoming release of The Eternal. Exclusive presale tickets go on sale April 30th, presale tickets on May 1st, and regular tickets on sale on May 2nd. There's also an album stream set to go live today, April 28th.

The Eternal will be the first Sonic Youth album of the post-major label, post-corporate era of the band. This will be Sonic Youth's first album with their new home of Matador Records, and will be released on double vinyl, compact disc, and download on June 9th.
