Austin City Limits Names 2009 Festival Line Up

By: Spacelab Research Staff

Austin City Limits, has announced it's 2009 lineup. The show is of course in Austin, Texas, and features over a hundred bands on eight different stages over three days. This year's festival includes Beastie Boys, Thievery Corporation, The Dead Weather, Sonic Youth, The Decemberists, and a lot more. Check out the festival overview for a complete line up.

Austin City Limits has grown into one of the largest in the world, as well as one of the oldest, and is now rapidly becoming one of the most diverse. Take this year's ACL lineup, for example. The acts are widespread among the genres, from indie rock and alternative to country, blues and folk to rock 'n' roll, bluegrass and zydeco.

You can of course jump into the whole social media thing by connecting with the festival on Facebook, MySpace, email and mobile. They'll of course be tweeting their hearts out on Twitter because everyone is doing it, and ACL doesn't want to be left out.

All early bird an advance tickets have been sold out, anyone wanting a ticket now will have to pony up for a regular old 3-day pass for $185. But hey, no service fees! High rollers (what's left of them anyway) can get 3 day VIP passes for the skinny price of $850.

The 2008 festival included names like Spiritualized, Octopus Project, Gnarls Barkley, David Byrne, M. Ward, Man Man, Jenny Lewis, Band of Horses, Stars, and the Raconteurs.

The festival also ends up being featured on late night installments on PBS, often around midnight, so check local American listings to see when it plays in your area.
