Seattle band Unnatural Helpers have gone and got themselves one of those new-fangled record deals. They'll release a full-length album sometime later this year.
After a self-released full-length in 2007, and a stint in the Sub Pop Singles Club, they decided that single life was not for them and settled down into a deal of matrimony with the super-creative label Hardly Art.
Unnatural Helpers consists of Dean Whitmore (Double Fudge), Kimberly Morrison (The Dutchess & the Duke), Brian Standeford (Idle Times, The Catheters), and Leo Gebhardt (The Catheters, Tall Birds). They sound "accelerated, snotty, and smart, with the ability to impart a one-two punch in two minutes or less," according to the witty Hardly Art publicity machine.
