Massive Attack is Back!

By: Spacelab Research Staff

The long awaited return of Massive Attack has finally been launched. The day has finally arrived with the vague announcement of a new album and a long, long tour.

The album, stll without title, will be released in October. Weather Underground is still the odds-on favorite, but 3D said they prefer to wait until the final minute to name an album.

"We had a stage name for it, and we've given up on it, we've gone back," he says. "We always think of the name at the last minute, that way you haven't got to think about it or live with it," said Robert "3D" Del Naja when speaking to Billboard.

They'll starting playing shows in September, and go through next year with stops in multiple continents.

It all starts on September 17th when they play O2 Academy Brixton in London for three nights. From there, they'll go onto more gigs in the U.K., then Europe, then a break for the holidays. After that, it's on to North America and Asia before playing Summer festivals in 2010.

"When you get on a roll it's such a laugh. For Meltdown [Festival] last year we ended up doing about 40 shows all around eastern and southern Europe, it was really good fun. So I can imagine for this we'll end up doing maybe 150 gigs."
