Distorted lo-fi guitars, pop music, and that Raleigh, North Carolina sound. The Love Language reminds me of everything I love about Guided By Voices and Sebadoh. Merge Records now loves the band, too. They've signed on with the label to release their second album, the follow up to the self-titled release that came out earlier this year.
“As of yesterday I’ve overdrawn my bank account by $200, my girlfriend dumped me and my car won’t start. I think this Merge deal could be a real turning point," said frontman Stuart McLamb. A master of understatement.
They'll be playing shows through the rest of the year, including a stop at the CMJ Marathon in New York this Fall.
