It looks like there's new music on the horizon for the pop edged, deep-sea sonar drone, guitar driven and anxiety-ridden sound of Liars.

Pitchfork is reporting that there's a new album due from the band early in 2010. It will be the follow up to 2007's self-titled release.

To get things rolling, they've also launched a new site called The Sister World. It's super-minimal in its offering, with videos of nature scenes. Liars ... like a soothing cup of tea? How would that work?

The mystery remains.
