Wild Eyed: Matador Records Buys True Panther Sounds

Matador Records is branching out in the world ... they've just bought the True Panther Sounds label. The label plays home to such acts as Girls, Glasser, Tanlines, Lemonade and Hunx & His Punx.

They've been on a bit of a tear lately, with the release of the slightly tawdry soft porn wannabe videos from Girls.

The label has been and will continue to be run by label founder Dean Bein.

So why did Matador buy True Panther Sounds? Their logic was simple.

"As Victor Kiam once explained his decision to purchase the Remington Shaver operation, “I liked it so much, I bought the company.” Needless to say, we like Dean, Girls, Glasser, Tanlines, Lemonade and Hunx & His Punx much more than than Mr. Kiam appreciated those razor blades," said the label in an announcement.
