Animal Collective have new EP coming out, titled Fall Be Kind. It will be available for download on November 23rd and on CD vinyl on December 15th via Domino Records.

It's going to include five new songs, operating along the same weather-oriented and seasonal influence that the band has been working in this year. In addition to the obvious reference in the title of the EP, the music will mostly be darker in tone than the Merriweather Post Pavilion songs, in reference to the darker vibe of the Fall season. They're you're musical wallpaper band! Environmental sound control for your seasonal satisfaction. We are truly living in an experience-oriented world.

Fall Be Kind was recorded by Ben Allen at Sweet Tea in Oxford, MS in February 2008 and Mission Sound in Brooklyn at the end of the Summer this year.

"The vibe is a little bit darker, I'd say-- not in terms of the sound, maybe. Well, the melodies are definitely darker. It's not abrasive dark or anything, but I think the mood of it has just a little bit more of a nighttime, kind of dark, sad vibe, even though I think "What Would I Want? Sky" is a little bit more positive or upbeat," said Dave Portner when speaking to Pitchfork about the new release.
