Mogwai have debuted a live performance film titled Burning (from a series of shows in Brooklyn) at the Copenhagen Documentary festival. The film was created by Vincent Moon and Nathanaël Le Scouarnec (of Blogotheque), and shows the band in stark black and white footage, playing the explosive style of performance that Mogwai is known for. Check out a preview of the video.
They'll also be releasing the recording under the name Special Moves on their own Rock Action Records.
The band is also planning on getting busy in 2010. Mogwai are currently sitting on a number of demos and plan on entering the studio to record them. As a matter of fact, they'll be taking most of 2010 to work on the new album.
"We’ve earmarked all of next year for doing it," explained the frontman. "I think that everyone’s trying out things at home and probably early next year, we’ll get together and laugh at how bad everybody’s attempts at making music are," said Stuart Braithwaite when speaking to BBC's 6Music.
