Kill Rock Stars is set to rerelease the  Elliott Smith albums Roman Candle and From a Basement on the Hill.

The music of Elliott Smith had a big impact on KRS founder Slim Moon, and he became a big fan once he listened to Roman Candle. Once heard it, he listened to it over and over again.

"It completely blew my mind. I have never heard music as heartwrenchingly, gut-checkingly honest, intimate, and wise – before or since."

From a Basement on the Hill was originally released in 2004 by Anti- Records. Roman Candle was released on Portland’s Cavity Search Records in 1994.

To celebrate, Kill Rock Stars is offering an unreleased track as a free download. The track "Cecelia/Amanda" was originally created by Smith's previous band, Stranger Than Fiction, but has been reworked here by Smith with different lyrics.
