eMusic Adds Warner Music, Will Start Streaming Service

Warner Music Group have decided to finally enter the new century and have worked out a deal to add WMG music to eMusic.



In a strange move, they'll offer older titles, but not new titles.



The agreement includes titles from Warner-owned labels like Atlantic Records, Rhino Records and Warner Bros. Records, as well as a host of independent labels that Warner distributes.


WMG joins Sony as the only two major labels to offer their music on eMusic, leaving Universal and EMI as holdouts.



In other eMusic news, the site is looking to start streaming music sometime this year.



"We have a bunch of things in store for 2010 that will allow us to grow again and that includes streaming. The biggest issue comes with the rights holders being able to take on new business models," said CEO Danny Stein in an interview with Reuters.
