Liars have announced the track list for the bonus remix album that's part of the upcoming Sisterworld release. It features remixes from the likes of Thom Yorke, Tunde Adebimpe (TV On The Radio), Bradford Cox (Deerhunter / Atlas Sound), Melvins, Alan Vega (Suicide), Chris & Cosey (Throbbing Gristle) and Blonde Redhead.
The band is also going out on tour with Fol Chen in April, hitting various cities on the east and west coast. Tickets are available now.
The Sisterworld package is due on March 9th, 2010, and was written and recorded in Los Angeles by Liars and Tom Biller (Kanye West, Beck, Where The Wild Things Are / Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind soundtracks). It will be the follow up to 2007's self-titled release. They're offering a free download of the track Scissor at their web site.
“The song is built from some strange vocal interactions I was having with myself. It’s a description of someone realizing their own inadequacies,” said Angus Andrew about the song.
According to their label Mute Records, the album gets its inspiration "from fringe characters lured to LA and the resulting subcultures and alternate spaces that they generate." Good times.
