Animal Collective are working with their film cohort Danny Perez on a new piece for New York's Guggenheim titled "Transverse Temporal Gyrus."
" It's a performance piece of "original recorded music composed specifically for the work along with video projections, costumes, and props, rendering the band members and performers into intense, visual abstractions," according to the announcement from the museum.
Tickets go on sale on February 17th for Guggenheim members, February 18th for mere mortals.
Danny Perez worked with the band on the Animal Collective movie project that debuted at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, titled ODDSAC.
"The visual work of Danny Perez has been incorporated to turn the environment of an empty museum into a more mysterious hideaway. The core elements and colors are worked into the piece in order to unite this room of sound with the inside of your brain," said the Animal Collective part of the statement.
