Wolf Parade singer/guitarist Dan Boeckner has revealed that there's a new Wolf Parade album on the way this Summer. The as-of-yet untitled album is due for a June 29th release date on Sub Pop Records, although the date is not set in stone. It might even be a double album, twice as nice.

The band is currently mixing the album after recording at Hotel2Tango studio in Montreal. It's being produced by Howard Bilermanworked with Arcade Fire on Funeral.

"Everyone's been working on it for 12 hours a day, seven days a week for the last two weeks. We ended up recording, I think, 15 songs, over 80 minutes of music, and we don't really know now whether we're going to put out an LP or a double album. If we did an LP maybe we'd do an LP and an EP, because we want to put all of the songs out. There were no songs that we recorded where everyone was like, 'Oh, that's a dud," he said when speaking to Exclaim.

Wolf Parade also recorded the album in a live mode, choosing to do full band takes as opposed to indidual takes with overdubs, to make the songs sound more like an overall whole.

"This is not a fussed-over computer record. There's almost zero overdubs on the record. So what you're hearing is pretty much what it sounds like live.”

You can see what the new material sounds like live when they head out on tour in April and May.
