Electronic-noise-punk act Crystal Castles are going retro for a Record Store Day release that will feature tracks from 2004. Titled Doe Deer, it will be released on April 17 via Fiction Records.

The tracks "Mother Knows Best," "Insectica" and "Seed" will be included, all from the days before the band went electronic.

Ethan Kath and Alice Glass make up the dynamic duo. While Ethan is responsible for the synthetic half of Crystal Castles, Alice takes charge of the organic, singing in a sneering, throaty yelp.

A new full length album is due sometime later in 2010.
