Two new songs from Montreal-based band Arcade Fire are making rounds on the Internet, with both "The Suburbs" and "Month of May," online now. Both songs are part of the upcoming Arcade Fire 12" single. A new Arcade Fire album is rumored for release later this Summer, with talk that it could be a double album.
The Arcade Fire machine started to heat up last week with an in limbo web site and talk of the new single. Thanks to the ever on point blogosphere, and the idea of crowdsourcing information, Joel's Arcade Fire Blog and a reader have tracked down information for an Arcade Fire single listed at Amazon for a June 1st release date.
Seattle radio station 107.7 The End and Rock It Out Blog also featured the songs, before suffering from traffic flows. It seems that Arcade Fire is a gravitational force of its own. Props to Consequence of Sound who made some SoundCloud versions available.
Then, Arcade Fire posted a notice on their site (pictured above) confirming the new single.
There's also plenty of festival appearances for Arcade Fire this Summer, including Oxegen, Reading/Leeds and Rock En Seine in Europe and Lollapalooza in the U.S.
