Arcade Fire have announced the release details for their new album The Suburbs, due ot on August 3rd via Merge Records. The Suburbs was co-produced by Markus Dravs (Coldplay, Bjork). It will be the follow up to 2007's Neon Bible.

It will be a CD and double-LP offering, and was recorded in Montreal and New York. This is Arcade Fire's third full-length studio album.

There's also plenty of festival appearances for Arcade Fire this Summer, including Oxegen, Reading/Leeds and Rock En Seine in Europe and Lollapalooza in the U.S.

Two new Arcade Fire songs are making rounds on the Internet this week, with both "The Suburbs" and "Month of May," online now. Both songs are part of the upcoming Arcade Fire 12" single due out on June 1st.

The Arcade Fire machine started to heat up last week with an in limbo web site and talk of the new single. Thanks to the ever on point blogosphere, and the idea of crowdsourcing information, Joel's Arcade Fire Blog and a reader tracked down information for an Arcade Fire single listed at Amazon for a June 1st release date.
