Nick Cave's Grinderman project is due back this September with the full length release Grinderman 2. The first single off of Grinderman 2, titled "Heathen Child," has just been released as a stream by Mute Records.

"Heathen Child" is due to arrive on September 6th from Mute Records. It's a gritty, sonically wailing type of affair, clocking in at five minutes.

"The song Heathen Child cuts a deep seductively heavy groove interjected with dazzling squalls of saw-tooth distortion. It abounds in lyrical imagery at turns lascivious, paranoid, philosophic, absurd and flat out abusive," reads the announcement for the release. Sounds heavy.

The video for the single was directed by John Hillcoat.

Grinderman 2 was recorded last year in London at RAK, State of The Ark and Assault and Battery studios, and was co-produced by Nick Launay and the band. The full album will be released on September 13th via Mute Records in Europe and September 14th on Anti- Records in the North America.
