Frankie Rose and the Outs have their debut full length album coming out on September 21st via Slumberland Records, and are already starting to line up shows for a tour. They'll be playing with Woven Bones.

Frankie's moved on from her lo-fi past with Dum Dum Girls and Vivian Girls, and is exploring a bigger, more dynamic sound. Call it Frankie hi-fi. Check out the sound with the songLittle Brown Haired Girl.

“I tried to make this album as hi-fi as possible while sticking to the sounds that I’ve always loved. I grew up listening to a lot of musicals and Gilbert and Sullivan operas, so harmonies are a given. I also was drawn to anything spooky as a kid-’Good Vibrations’ still kinda scares me. Reverb puts a haze on everything, you know?” she said about the new album.

So why put the limitations on yourself that come with a label like lo-fi? Once you define your sound, you're almost obligated to follow that in the future, which can be limiting to the development of a band.

“To be honest, I like so much music, and never know what influences are going to come out. For me, songwriting is more about evoking certain feelings than the lyrics or anything else. Hell, sometimes I don’t even know what the songs mean.”
