The Vaselines are set to return this fall after a 20-year hiatus. All in all, it's shaping up to be a sharp album with all of the wit and spirit the band has been known for.

The album is titled Sex with an X, and will arrive on September 14th via Sub Pop Records. They've released the song "I Hate the 80's," just to prove that the new Vaselines are every bit as good as the old one.

What's perhaps more interesting, is the new video they've released as sort of electronic press kit, in which band members Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee take turns interviewing each other, it might the funniest thing you see all week.

Sex with an X was recorded at Analogue Catalogue studio in Mossley, and was produced by Jamie Watson  and engineered by Julie McLarnon. The recorded a new song each day they were in the studio, with a few extras along the way.

They've recently announced a set of shows in September and October, with Dum Dum Girls opening a some of the shows. There are a few gigs with Belle and Sebastian and Teenage Fanclub as well.
