The Thermals are on their way to a great Fall with their new video for "I Don't Believe You," off of their new album Personal Life.

The video was directed by Whitey McConnaughy and features Sleater-Kinney's Carrie Brownstein tracking down an endless source of speakers planted in her home to broadcast The Thermals playing their new song. Meanwhile, the band is playing the song live in a hidden, remote location (No, Dick Cheney's not there).

Personal Life is due for release on Kill Rock Stars on September 7th, 2010. The label calls it "a loud, melodic meditation on life, death and water." The lead-off single, "I Don't Believe You" was released as a 7" and digitally by Kill Rock Stars on August 10th, 2010. You can download the song here.

They're also heading out on tour next month with Japandroids, Cymbals Eat Guitars and The Coathangers.

Chris Walla returned to produce the new album at Portland's Jackpot! Studios. The studio has a long history of recording bands from the northwest, including Elliott Smith, Quasi, The Gossip, Sleater-Kinney, Eddie Vedder, The Decemberists, and The Shins. When the band was done recording at Jackpot!, they took the tracks back to Chis Walla's own studio to mix the album.
