YouTube's Vevo app for iPhone was launched a little over a week ago, and has already had over a million downloads. It gives both iPhone and iPod touch people a chance to view all of the Vevo content from its site.
The Vevo iPhone app is at number seven on the iTunes Free Apps ranking right now, down a few spots from earlier in the week, where it topped out at the number one spot. iPad and Android apps are in development as well.
Vevo is so excited about the 1 million mark that they're offering a $100 iTunes gift certificate for one winner who talks about it on Twitter.
Right now, the Vevo app features over 20,000 videos and is integrated into iTunes in a way that lets user buy music videos from the iTunes ecosystem. Features include GPS location to target music for users based on where they're currently at on the grid, carousel cycling of videos, as well as channels like Vevo's most watched, most buzzed videos, and featured content.
Vevo was originally put together by Universal Music Group, Sony and Google as a rival and competitor to Hulu and iTunes.
