Massive Attack are ready to release a new EP quick on the heels of their last full-length album release, Heligoland. The EP is titled Atlas Air and is a benefit release for War Child, limited to 1000 copies on vinyl. It will also have an unlimited digital release. It's due out in November of this year.
"The initial pitch to support War Child and ‘Help’ wasn’t difficult: children are the innocent victims of war. We were quick to get involved. What’s so great about War Child is they continue to make great albums and events. It wasn’t a one-off, it’s an ongoing project and that can have an effect long-term," said Robert Del Naja when speaking about Atlas Air.
The EP will feature remixes by both Clark and Tim Goldsworthy, as well as a short film for the track "Atlas Air." Guy Garvey will do guest vocals on a track titled "Redlight."
War Child is a humanitarian organization that raises money in innovative ways. One way is War Child Music, which enlists artists from around the globe, records their music, and makes it available for purchase. Proceeds go to help out poor children from war torn areas around the globe. |
