Vivian Girls continue to plod forward with renewed success, this time with a new label signing. They've officially landed on Polyvinyl Records, a significant step forward for them and a good place for Vivian Girls to grow. Polyvinyl will release their new album Share The Joy in the Spring of 2011.
the band is currently dealing with the loss of drummer Ali Koehler to the band Best Coast, but she's been replaced by Fiona Campbell from the Coolies.
In a recent interview on Verbicide Magazine, Cassie Ramone said the album had been recorded "... At our friend Jarvis’s house in Brooklyn. He plays drums and sometimes guitar in Woods, who are one of our favorite local bands — one of our favorite bands period, really. They’re incredible. Jarvis has been our friend for a really long time, and he has a really amazing recording set up in his house. He has a lot of really cool tape machines and effects pedals."
Both Katie and Cassie have solo releases coming out ... Katy with Le Sera on the Hardly Art label and Cassie with Zenith on In the Red.
