Greg Dulli, the man responsible for the critically acclaimed Afghan Whigs and the Twilight Singers, is in the middle of a long overdue solo tour, with a limited 14 date stateside run, as well as dates in Ireland, Portugal, Spain, and Belgium.
But things get oh so much better for Twilight Singers fans, as today marks the announcement of a new Twilight Singers album, titled Dynamite Steps. It's their first new album in five years and is due out on February 15th. Sub Pop Records is handling the world-wide release (props to you, Sub Pop) and tour plans will be arriving shortly. Worldwide tour plans, we're told.
Dynamite Steps includes a duet with Ani Di Franco, titled Blackbird and the Fox. I wonder who's playing which part in that song? It sounds deep and dark, with the announcement from Sub Pop foretelling "the album explores the thin line between life and death, mortality and immortality, resignation and celebration—that mythical moment when your life flashes before your eyes, drawn out here over the course of eleven songs."
And you thought it was just going to be a bunch of new songs.
