San Francisco's 2011 Noise Pop Music Festival is off to a great start with the announcement of its 2011 lineup. Acts announced today include Yo La Tengo, Best Coast, Dan Deacon Ensemble, a solo Ted Leo, Wavves and more. This is the first Noise Pop lineup announcement, so look for names to be announced in the near future. Check out more information at the festival overview.
Festival badges for all Noise Pop events will be available for $160 starting on Dec. 9. Early Bird Badges are now on sale for $125. The festival will go down on Feb. 22 - 27 at places like The Bottom Of The Hill, Bimbo's, and Great American Music Hall.
If you've got a band, and you're sufficiently noisy (or pop, better yet both) you can still try to land a gig at Noise Pop. Submissions are being accepted until Jan. 7 from bands that qualify as Alternative, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop, Punk, Rock, and Singer/Songwriter. Dig it.
If you want in on the Noise Pop Film Festival, you must fit into one of two categories (better yet, both): Music Documentary or "Use of Music in a Film." Get the tribe together with a digital camera (better yet, three) and shoot your best take on the world.
And of course there's the requisite Indie Night School sessions, Noise Pop poster show, art shows, and more to be announced. The festival is in its 19th year.
