|The Mutek Festival puts Montreal on the Techno map. It features minimal techno artists from all over the world in a 5 day festival of beats and workshops.
They've got about 40 performers and panels, workshops, and events at a variety of locations, all set to start on Wednesday and continue through Sunday.
In 2009, Mutek launched DIGI_SECTION, a series of discussion sessions, panels, and workshops centered around artists, technology and media. They've just announced the DIGI_SECTION lineup for the 2011 show, which includes "Live Exchanges" with Amon Tobin, Emptyset, Akufen, Horror Inc, Sutekh and Traversable Wormhole. The Live Exchange is a one-on-one conversation with leading electronic musicians and Resident Advisor Editor-in-Chief Todd Burns.
DIGI_SECTION also includes workshops and panels on everything from creating iPad apps to augmented reality to audio software programming. Find out more at the Mutek web site.
