Two new Arcade Fire songs have hit the web, named “Culture War” and “Speaking In Tongues.” They were aired on BBC broadcaster Zane Lowe's radio show, and you can listen to “Culture War” and “Speaking In Tongues” above. Both songs will be part of Arcade's Fire's deluxe edition of The Suburbs, and are to be included as previously unreleased songs. “Speaking In Tongues” includes a performance by none other than Mr. David Byrne. The Arcade Fire streams are courtesy of ListenBeforeYouBuy.
Both “Culture War” and “Speaking In Tongues” are classic Arcade Fire material as we've heard from The Suburbs ... they've got the sound aesthetic from the songs written during that period. Arcade Fire will release a deluxe edition of The Suburbs on Aug. 2 via Merge Records, complete with a Spike Jonze-directed film called “Scenes From The Suburbs.” Check out a video preview of “Scenes From The Suburbs.” It's a CD/DVD package.
