The Shangri-La has a running theme and storyline, as described by festival organizers "The 2011 storyline is pre-apocalyptic - the population of Shangri–La is preparing to flee to before the end of the world in 2012. They’ve given up on trying to save the planet, and a virulent disease is spreading rapidly through the squalid slums. Instead they’ve colonised a new planet and the first transport there ships out on Monday. This is the last party before they go, a rave to end all raves…"
Glastonbury's Shangri-La has gone from a "dictatorship" in 2009 to being "overthrown" by rebels in 2010. It seems like this is the year of the biggest party of all. It's divided into two areas: The Hub and Club Dada.
